Perfectly timed rainbow

A stunning, but fleeting moment on St Agnes, Isles of Scilly.
We took the evening ‘supper boat’ from St Marys across to St Agnes and enjoyed a hearty dinner in the ‘Turks Head’ pub. Afterwards, we walked the peaceful, car-less lanes that cross the island. I noticed this remarkable rock formation known as the ‘Nags Head’ and walked across some fields to get a closer view, the evening light was not ideal but I worked a composition I liked, when a sudden rain squall had me scurrying to get lenses and filters back in the bag. Seconds later, while still raining, this intense rainbow formed in the perfect place for my planned composition. A hurried lens change, hunched forward with my back to the rain to give shelter and three quick exposures – then it was all over...
